Trammell Crow Office Building - Maitland, FL

Problem:

After the building has been in use for several years, the city suction supply has degraded, causing a pressure loss on upper floors of the structure. The problem is that the building has no other available mechanical room space to allow for installation of a "conventional" pressure booster system. A suggested option was to install a secondary fiberglass or concrete structure outside of the main building to house the new pump package, however, the management did not like this idea since the secondary building would be both aesthetically unattractive, very costly and require additonal structural maintenance.

Solution:

Delta P Systems came to the rescue with an ingenious duplex pump package which is contained in a stainless steel piping shell and includes (2) stainless steel submersible turbine pumps and a full line size by-pass with check valve that operates when the pumps are shut off. The system would be installed just outside of the Fire Pump Room (where the controller is mounted) and be easily camouflaged by small shrubs. We have recently installed a simplex version of the pump in a building nearby. This pump is mounted in the drop-ceiling very close to the front door of the building. The system is completely obscured by the ceiling and produces no noise capable of being heard by anyone.
